Abstract: The main sources of errors in the position surveying by GPS and the influences on the surveying results are analysed in this paper.Matters needing attention in the network layout, position selecting and surveying designs during the city control network surveying by GPS are proposed. The methods of the baseline processing and the result precision analysing are also presented with the help of surveying results of GPS testing network of Beijing. The discussed methods are valuable for reference.
