Abstract:
The application of numerical method in the stability analysis of underground opening during excavation and supporting process is briefly introduced. According to a certain design and construction scheme of a large-scale underground opening, FEM is used to simulate the processes of excavation and supporting of the underground opening, as well as to study the design of spray-bolt parameters. Some theoretical guides to engineering design and in-situ construction are provided.

Abstract:
To improve the utilization of underground space, a new method-Constructing Underground Space and Forming Concrete Supporting with Synchronous Explosive and Expanding method is presented. The proposed method also can be applied to some other geotechnical engineering, such as excavation and supporting of deep pit, foundation treatment, wide area excavation, ground water treatment and so on.

Abstract:
Based on the exposition of the stress mechanism of composite foundation of rigid piles, some problems in the design and construction are discussed. These problems include the selection of the pile styles, the application of the composition foundation of rigid piles with soft piles together, the computation of bearing capacity and settlement, the relation between the stress radio and bearing capacity, and the application of counter-construction using in composite foundation.

Abstract:
Based on engineering experience, a three-layered foundation model for settlement calculation of cement-soil compote foundation is proposed, in which MINDLIN stress solution is applied and the critical length of cement-soil pile is also taken into account.

Abstract:
At present people have various views on the composite ground of rigid piles in our country. Because the function mechanism of the composite ground of rigid piles is similar with the pile foundation, some people regard it as a kind of pile foundation. After clearly determinating its difference from pile foundation, the train of thought and steps of design of composite ground of rigid piles as well as its bearing capacity assessment are analyzed and introduced in detail.

Abstract:
Based on analyzing the composition of sinking pile resistance of static press pile, an estimation formula of sinking pile resistance is proposed. The paper is valuable for applying of the construction technology of static-press pile, judging the possibility of pile sinking and selecting the construction equipment.

Abstract:
An analytical solution for bearing enlarging disk of the DX pile based on its actual bearing characteristic is presented. The result reflects the stress-strain relationship and displacement of the soils near the pile's bearing enlarging disk and basically predicts the moving law of the soils while squeezed. Then the forming mechanism is analyzed.

Abstract:
The causes of formation of horizontal fracture pile are analyzed. And the characteristics of horizontal fracture piles are concluded. combining with the engineering examples of horizontal fracture pile on the typical medium depth section, the harmfulness of horizontal fracture pile and the particularity of testing are explained.

Abstract:
The normalization of relationship between stress and strain of gallet, reinforced or not, is not as good as that of soil. The lower the around pressure and the harder the stone, the more scattering the test points in cartesian system. In orthogonal system, according to the scattering points and the magnitude of around pressure, gallet, reinforced or not, can be normalized into two lines which can be used to determine the stress-strain relationship. Comparing with the test curves, the result shows that the points of reinforced gallet are more concentrated than those of unreinforced gallet. Finally,a anew constitutive equation related to the normalization is proposed to calculate the tangential shear modulus of gallet. The parameters which can be directly determined by tri-axial test in the equation are also demonstrated.

Abstract:
Thirty terminologies and their concepts of loess are clearly listed. These terminologies include five aspects of loess, which are subsidence, feature curves of subsidence, styles and grades of subsidence, settlement of increasing dampness and acting sequences of force and water.

Abstract:
Before accomplished buildings are reformed to increase their layers, the first important problem is to correctly evaluate the properties of the foundation soil. Based on a certain engineering practice, by analyzing many laboratory and in-site test data together with two groups of loading test, the variable regularity of physical mechanics properties of foundation soil is discussed.

Abstract:
It is necessary to consider the influence of shrinking and temperature stresses when using reinforced stress to measure reinforced concrete strut axial forces. According to an engineering practice in Pudong, Shanghai, both the theoretical analysis and in-situ test are studied. The results show that the shrinking and maximum temperature stresses correspond to 1/3 and 1/5 of the total strut axial forces respectively.

Abstract:
Lightweight materials are widely used in structural construction with their characteristics of lightweight and heat insulation, but little used in geotechnical engineering. The lightweight materials used in geotechnical engineering include EPS, SLS, FLM and so on. The mechanical features of foam light material are studied. And the application and advantages of this material in geotechnical engineering is introduced.
