Numerical Simulation for Ground Subsidence due to Underground Metro-station Excavation and Comparison with Peck Volume Loss Model

  • A metro-station of the Guangzhou metro line 3# is expected to be constructed by expanding excavation on two established shielding tunnels. Using FLAC3D code, the numerical simulation on this metro-station excavation is presented. Further, the method of least square is used to simulate the curve of Peck volume loss model. The acquired formula for ground movement prediction shows good agreement with practical results. The current research will offer reference for similar engineering of metro-construction.
