Three-Dimensional Finite Element Analysis about Characteristic of Differential Settlement of Foundation Supported by Different Type Piles

  • Recently more and more attentions are given to the variable rigidity design method for controlling differential settlement, The three dimensional(3-D)finite element method is used to discuss the relation between settlement and rigidity of foundation supported by different type piles.A design method is presented to control differential settlement by changing types of piles and layout of piles.A case study shows that this method can be used to reduce the differential settlement and prevent second stress.
