Study on the Characteristics and Countermeasures of Ganhe Gully Debris Flow in Shifang,Sichuan

  • Ganhe gully which is an old debris flow gully had broken out on August,1996.The disaster destroyed the Red light bridge and lumber mill at the gully mouth.According to the investigation on the debris flows, it is found that the gully has rich matter-source which are concentrated in 3# gully region after 5.12 Wenchuan earthquake.The main kind of matter-source are rock fall and landslide, the dynamic reserves is about 260 000 m3.The debris flow is defined as large-scale with 20 000 m3 solid matter bursting out.Combining with the construction characteristics of Ganhe debris flow gully,this paper proposes related controlling measures and suggestions.
