The requirement and design of the deeply buried bench mark is proposed based on the discussions of the settlement observing of the high baildings on the soft ground. The settlement of the shallow buried bench mark is calculated by complex measuring bench mark. The preliminary views for the determination of the affective range of the surface settlement by high bnilding are proposed.
